1. It is said in the discussion about charging the students, it is good to charge the students (may not be much as it varies with the individuals), for the sake of commitment! YES, STUDENTS (NOT ALL) ARE NOT COMMITED IF THEY DON'T PAY.
Even in my classes many students attend sincerely till the last part & post their valuable comments too. But I have found some students joining the session, after attending for few minutes log off WITHOU A WORD, then they come back again after some 10 / 15 mins, ATTEND FOR FEW MINUTES AGAIN SIGNIN OFF, asking me the leftover part which I have explained when they were off.
Its okay if they join the session late, in that case, at least we shall give a brief description of what has happened so far, but signing off and signing in AT RANDOM without a word disturbs the other sincere attendees too.
THIS MEANS THEY SIGN IN TO PASS THEIR TIME AND NOT SINCERE TO LEARN. (It may not be a problem when they put a word before signing off, but again joining in the middle asking to explain again portrays that THEY TAKE THE TEACHERS(WHO CONDUCTS FREE CLASSES)FOR GRANTED)!!
This can be avoided if they are charged.
2. Then...... I have a suggestion ......... do not know how well it works out.....
instead of allowing all the students to attend free of cost every time the classes of the same teacher innumerable times, there can be a facility for the teachers to set a limit say,.."A student can attend a maximum of 5 /10 / 15 free classes under the same teacher.
From the 6th /11th / 16th class onwards the student attending the particular teacher's class ( for the same subject, because the teacher may handle more than 1 subject) will be charged. The wiziq can facilitate the teachers to set this limit.
Because, the number of students and the individual members(names of them) attending the different classes will be different. It is quite difficult for the teachers to track & filter the individual students to count as how many times they have attended that particular teacher's class and what is the number of clases (nth time?)they are attending.
This again increases the commitment of the students and also the teachers' dedication. In free classes, "n" number of students attend "n" number of times, signing in and signing off AT RANDOM "N" NUMBER OF TIMES. THIS CAN BE AVOIDED IF A LIMIT IS SET.
THIS IS A POINT THAT STRUCK ME WHEN I EXPERIENCED IN HANDLING MY SESSIONS AS WELL AS VIEWING OTHERS' RECORDINGS.
Thanks, Regards....
