“Recently, I had an interaction with a Director of a reputed scientific research organization. He has a good international reputation as a scientist. During the discussion I referred to the teaching through internet. To my surprise the Director was not at all aware of such coaching. He repeatedly inquired if it was chatting or web-conferencing It took a while to explain to him the use of the wiziq-platform and its various functions."
This is what people even in scientific organization are not introduced to the concept of e-coaching. The response of a common parent to have his son/daughter coached on internet is a far cry. They immediately scuttle the idea of allowing their children to be on the net, even if their fellow students motivate them for the benefits they have had with this facility.
We all feel that the awareness of the benefits of e-coaching have not gone to the common man. The contribution by the wiziq people to train teachers to use the platform has been tremendous and the patience with which they respond to any inquiry is exemplary. They are ever ready to help and even pay individual attention to facilitate our use of the platform. What is needed is mass awareness of parents and students and if possible school teachers. We, as teachers have to play a role to propagate this awareness in whatever possible way.
We know that the day is not far off when students across the globe shall scan for better teachers for their own benefit and convenience, once the students and parents are aware of this facility. As has been pointed out , the paucity of electricity and good broadband connection are adding to the problem of the people coming forward for such education.
At the moment, we can only say “FUTURE IS e-COACHING"
