This is a personal note to those of you who follow me and our Edupunk thing.  We have spent over a year trying to redefine online learning.  particularly as it pertains to learning English.  Our attempts at building a non traditional community of learners has had some success.  However, the final step of creating a viable financial model has not come to fruition.

The current efforts, which you have seen on Facebook ( www.facebook.com/myESLfriends ) and here on our blog, are a totally new tack.  I (George Machlan) am now using all of the lessons learned in online class dynamics as the basis for building a traditional course offering.  You can view the daily class offerings starting June 1st here on WizIQ.  They will look familiar to those of you who have been involved in The Edupunk Channel heretofore.

After three full years of finding my voice as an English coach, I am satisfied that I will do whatever it takes to make this my final career.  I have found a joy and fulfillment in teaching that has rarely been achieved in my life.  In order to make this my final job, I must find a way to make it financially viable... full-time.  My personal goal over the next 6 months is to attract 50 students consistently at 30 dollars per month.  My take (after affiliate and/or WizIQ payments) will be 20 dollars each.  This will allow me to devote myself full-time to this vocation.

I can only offer live classes (my forte) from 6-8AM daily (NY time) which severely restricts students due to local time differences.

Once I can devote myself full-time we should be able to accommodate almost any time zone.  I hope that together, we can find a way to create a vibrant community of discovery.  This Friday's orientation class (link HERE ) will be showing all how they can join this community/course thingy.  I will show you how, even if you cannot afford 30 dollars, you can join us.  I will also post on FB and the "Join Us" page (link HERE ) at that time.
